Team Mary Sea Wins 2nd Division One Tournament
Team Mary Sea won the ASA/Ocean Performance Bass Blast held in Old Saybrook Ct. this past weekend to bring home $7250 in prize money. This is the 2nd win for Captain Don McNally and his crew on the ASA/Mercury Striper Trail.
The Mary Sea based in Mystic, Ct. landed the biggest fish of the 35 boat field on Saturday with a striper weighing 55.55 pounds. This is also the largest striper brought in this year on the ASA/Mercury Tournament Trail. Mary Sea’s Sunday catch of 41.70 lbs. was also largest fish brought in for that day and the 3rd largest of the tournament. The two fish total was 97.25.
Local Team, Widgeon placed 2nd in the tournament with a total weight of 81.20 winning $2520. Team Cheap Shot placed third with 63.90 pounds winning $1680. Rounding out the top five were Team Hapi Daze at 63.35 and Team Tyman at 60.05.
Top Jr. Anglers for the tournament were Nicholas and Jonathan Celico fishing on the I’m On. Top Lady Anglers were part of the Mary Sea crew, Donna Speaks and Michelle McNally.
Team Vitamin Sea won the tournaments Bunker Award and Team Jeb Jig won a special tournament award from Faria Marine Instruments for weighing fish closest to a 50 pound mark set during the Captain’s Meeting.
The next ASA tournament will be held in Hampton Bays, New York on September 28th-30th.
