TO THE AMERICAN STRIPER ASSOCIATION, the nations "Premier Striper Tournament Series". In 2009 the ASA will be conducting 8 tournaments in our series covering the Northeast United States from North Carolina to Cape Cod. Striper enthusiasts can choose to fish local tournaments, a division or compete for the prestigious Angler of the Year Award presented to the ASA Boat Captain that exhibits the skills needed to earn the bragging rights as the Nations Best Striped Bass Fisherman. Prizes will also be awarded to the Top Jr. and Female Angler at the end of the 2009 season.
The old saying “Just one more cast” came true for Lebanon, New Jersey Team Michaels Bait and Tackle Saturday during the mercury striper series. At 3:10 pm Team Michaels Bait and Tackle tackle fishing a Contender boat hooked up on a 45.95 pound striper giving them the winning striped bass. Combined with a one pound bonus for a live release captain Bryan Pieros’s 46.95 tournament total gave him his 1st American Striper Association Tournament win of 2009 and a $2430 pay day.
